Dave Kreutz and Roger Currie (Wide Bay Burnett Conservation Council). Talking about the federal court case that the community has been forced to mount against the Queensland Government over the Paradise Dam on the Burnett River. A federal audit found that the proponent had not complied with the approval conditions placed upon the dam under the EPBC act, yet no legal action was taken against the proponent. The Queensland Government is now seeking a similar conditional approval of the proposed Traveston Crossing Dam under the same Federal Act. (6:28)

 

Steve Posselt and Jerry Coleby-Williams.  Steve is the author of 'Cry me a River' - a story of the fate of the Murray-Darling system and a long time supporter of the campaign to save the Mary River from a similar fate.  Jerry speaks about the water system that  he has set up on his suburban lot in Brisbane, and points out that destroying more river systems to provide urban water for Brisbane is not the best way forward.
